01Photos & videos
With your permission, the app reads accessible photos, videos, thumbnails and necessary metadata, such as dates, sizes and album information, for categorization, duplicate and similarity analysis, previews, compression and deletions you confirm. Photo analysis and compression run on your device; media is not uploaded to Clean Duo servers for analysis.
Scan results, analysis caches and sorting progress are stored on the device to reduce repeat scanning and retain progress. System photo services may retrieve content according to your iCloud settings. Compression skips originals stored only in iCloud.
Video-to-Live-Photo creation generates a new still and motion resource on your device and saves them to Photos, without automatically deleting the source video. Unlike ordinary compression, opening a video for this tool may download its iCloud original through system services.
02Contacts & calendar permissions
When you use and authorize these features, the app reads contact fields to find duplicates, merge, back up and restore entries, and calendar events to review and delete past entries. Changes follow your selection and confirmation. Contact merges and ordinary deletions create a local backup first.
Organization happens on the device. Contact backups are stored locally in the app; files you explicitly export or share are handled by the chosen destination. System account services may sync changes made to contacts and calendars.
03Private Space & device backups
Imported media, thumbnails and contact information are stored on your device with iOS data protection. A salted digest of your PIN is stored in the system Keychain; the app does not store a plain-text PIN. Owner authentication is provided by the system.
Private Space is not a separate cloud sync service. Local files and Keychain information may be included in Apple-provided device backups according to your settings. Backup and restoration depend on system conditions. Keep important content safe before uninstalling or changing devices.
04Google sign-in & Gmail data
The app accesses Gmail only after you choose to sign in with Google and grant mail permission. Google handles sign-in; Clean Duo does not receive your Google password. The current gmail.modify permission supports reading and managing mail and sending unsubscribe emails when you initiate an unsubscribe action.
The app reads your Google user identifier, email address, message identifiers, category labels, senders, subjects, dates, snippets and the bodies you open, as well as unsubscribe information. This supports counts, filtering, viewing, moving messages to Trash and subscription management. Requests go directly from your device to Google, without passing through Clean Duo servers. Mail data is not used for advertising or model training.
The Google sign-in component manages credentials through the system Keychain. Account details, message lists and counts, subscription records and recently opened message bodies are cached on the device. Mail data files use iOS file protection and are marked as excluded from device backups. Signing out erases that account’s local mail files and remembered sign-in, and attempts to revoke Google access. If the network request fails, you can remove the connection in your Google Account.
When you request an unsubscribe, the app may contact a sender-provided endpoint, send an unsubscribe email through Gmail on your behalf, or open a page for you to finish. The sender receives information needed to process the request, such as an identifier in the unsubscribe URL or your sending address. Message-body display blocks remote images, scripts and tracking resources. External links you choose to open are handled by the destination website.
Information obtained from Google APIs is used only to provide the mail features you choose. Its use and transfer adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements. You can stop using mail features and revoke access. Revoking access does not undo previous mailbox actions.
05Built-in browser
The browser uses temporary website data storage. Browsing cookies, caches and website storage are not retained as persistent browsing data; bookmarks you save are stored locally.
Requests go to websites or search services you visit and may include your IP address, request content and browser information. Those services apply their own policies. Private browsing does not prevent websites or network providers from seeing requests.
06Purchases, settings & diagnostics
Apple StoreKit handles subscriptions. The app uses purchase and subscription status to verify PRO access and does not receive your full payment card details. Apple processes payments and store information under its privacy policy.
Preferences including language, appearance, allowances and sorting progress are stored on the device. The current version has no advertising or third-party behavioral analytics SDK and no media-upload flow to Clean Duo servers. Apple may process device diagnostics and crashes according to your system sharing settings.
07Website & email support
This website has no photo uploads, account registration or payment flow, and uses no advertising trackers or analytics cookies. It requests resources from its host; when publicly hosted, the hosting provider may process IP addresses, request times and error logs to serve the website.
When you contact support, we process your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send in order to reply and resolve the issue. Avoid sending unnecessary private photos, complete contact lists, device passcodes or PINs. Support records are retained only for handling the request and necessary follow-up.
08Your choices & information management
You can change or revoke photo, contact and calendar access in iOS Settings, and manage private content and bookmarks in the app. Clearing or uninstalling the app affects its local data; it does not automatically delete system photos, system contacts or device backups, or cancel a subscription.
Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of information you sent to support. We may verify that the request is associated with the relevant email address. The product is not intended to collect information from children.
